Terms and conditions

Prior to booking any Crux Outdoors scheduled session it is important that you read through the following Booking Terms and Conditions to avoid potential disappointment on arrival at location

– Payment must be made in full at the time of booking, unless agreed otherwise.

Cliff Camping Participant Restrictions:

It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that all participants are:

– At least 6 years old.
– At least 1.1m tall
– Must weigh less than 18st 12lb (120kg) OR 15st 10.5lb (100kg) if sharing a double portaledge. The combined weight of the portaledge must not exceed 200kg.
– Aware of what the activity involves and definitely want to take part.
– Sober and free from the influence of any other substances.

Rock Climbing Participant Restrictions:

– At least 8 years old (there may be alternative age restrictions for each course, so please check) .
– At least 1.1m tall
– Must weigh less than 18st 12lb (120kg).
– Aware of what the activity involves and definitely want to take part.
– Sober and free from the influence of any other substances.

Crux Outdoors reserves the right to cancel the session without a refund if it becomes obvious to us that any participants do not meet these requirements or if participants are behaving in a way that we believe may compromise the overall safety, or enjoyment of others.

Supervision of Youngsters

Under 16 year olds must have an adult present for the duration of any activity.

Customer Cancellations

General Cancellations: If a participant needs to cancel their booking, they must inform us in writing as soon as possible. Our refund policy is as follows:

  • More than 30 days before the activity date: Full refund minus a 10% administrative fee.

  • 15-30 days before the activity date: 50% refund.

  • Less than 15 days before the activity date: No refund will be provided.

Weather Considerations: Due to the nature of our activities, unfavorable weather conditions do not automatically warrant a cancellation on our part. We are experienced in managing these situations and will make every effort to ensure your activity goes ahead, unless the conditions pose a risk to safety.

Please make sure you arrive on time for your activity. If you arrive late, we will try to accommodate you, however this may not be possible, and you will not be refunded.

Crux Outdoors Cancellations

Crux Outdoors reserves the right to cancel any booked activity at any time. This will usually be due to events outside of our control and for safety reasons. In the unlikely event of this happening, we will attempt to reschedule the activity. If this is not possible, a full refund will be given.

Weather-Related Cancellations: In the event of severe weather conditions that compromise the safety of participants (e.g., high winds, extreme temperatures), we reserve the right to cancel or modify the itinerary. In such cases:

  • If an alternative itinerary or activity cannot take place, participants will receive a full refund minus a 10% administrative fee and any other expenses (e.g., purchased food).

  • If a modified itinerary is completed, no refund will be issued.

  • If an alternative itinerary is proposed and rejected by the customer, no refund will be provided.

No Show: If a participant fails to show up for the activity without prior notice, no refund will be provided.

​

We do not offer compensation for other costs incurred (for example travel costs).

Safety

Crux Outdoors places great emphasis on safety, however there is an element of risk involved. Prior to arrival for your activity everyone taking part must be included on a signed Acknowledgement of Risk stating that you understand the risk, and are fit and able to take part. Under 18’s must be counter-signed by an Adult. All participants must listen to and follow all the safety instructions given by an instructor, otherwise they may be removed from the course and no refund will be given.

Gift Vouchers

1. Vouchers are valid for a year from purchase. The gift voucher expiration date will be stated on them and can not be used after that date.

2. Vouchers cannot be replaced if lost, stolen or destroyed.

3. Vouchers cannot be refunded or exchanged for cash or other denominated vouchers.

4. Experience Vouchers are set to a specific activity and no change will be given.

5. Vouchers cannot be used in conjunction with any special promotions, discount tokens, coupons or cards.

6. Vouchers cannot be sold to any third parties without our consent. If we do give our consent then such consent may be subject to any conditions which we impose. In any event you may not sell the Vouchers through the internet without our express written consent, which you must obtain before making any such sale. We reserve the right at all times to refuse to permit any sale of Vouchers by you to a third party.

7. Experience Vouchers are valid on the specified activity stated on the voucher only and cannot be used on other adventures or Crux Outdoors merchandise. Please purchase a ‘Monetary Value Voucher’ for use in our online store

8. Monetary value vouchers will be accepted for bespoke experiences. If the value of the experience is less than the value of the voucher, a second voucher will be issued for the remaining amount for use in the future. The expiry date will be the same as that of the original voucher.

9. Gift Vouchers will automatically sent to UK Adresses only, but International postage may also be available and will take longer to arrive. Please get in touch before your purchase to confirm if you’re really keen on getting your physical gift voucher!

Activity Feedback

Crux Outdoors welcomes all feedback. If you have a complaint you must inform us verbally within 24 hours of your session and in writing within a week of your session for your case to be assessed. Any complaints made later than this will not be considered for a refund.
