Join Our Team as a Community Youth Tutor in our Outdoor Residential Team
Location: Ambleside and across the South Lakes
Salary: £26,000-£31,000 per annum - 40 hours per week
Contract Type: Permanent. Full-time
Working Pattern: 5 days in 7, including weekends and evenings

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced practitioner to develop and deliver impactful programmes for community youth and school groups.
As a Community Youth Tutor, you will be part of our dynamic Delivery Team, providing outdoor, experiential, and developmental programmes to young people aged 5-25. You will collaborate with our teams at Ambleside and other community locations to develop and deliver these life-changing experiences.
About Brathay:
Brathay operates community teams across several locations, delivering open-access youth programmes and targeted support for those experiencing challenges
surrounding reduced wellbeing, mental health, as well as supporting re-engagement with education. In this role you will work closely with the community teams to provide a blended approach to their programmes, incorporating outdoor experiential learning into already established programmes.
What We're Looking For:
We are looking for someone with a background in youth-based services, excellent communication skills across a range of demographics, and a drive to achieve meaningful outcomes for young people.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
Essential:
• Relevant professional or postgraduate qualification and extensive experience
in a relevant field.
• Level 2 Safeguarding Qualification
• Current Driving Licence including D1 entitlement
• Mountain Leader (Summer)
• RCI
• Paddlesport Leader or above
• Powerboat Level 2
• First Aid (16 Hour)
Desirable:
• Safeguarding Level 3
• NVQ in youth work (Level 3) or equivalent of practical experience
• D1+E
• Cave Leader Level 1 or above
• At least one other higher level NGB from the following:
o Mountain Instructor Award
o Mountain Leader Award (winter)
o An advanced Paddle sport award
o RYA Safety boat or Powerboat Instructor
